Welcome to NYU Exposed,
the website that aims to provide you with information about New York University that you won’t get in donor requests, the alumni magazine or on campus tours.
This site is divided into three sections:
How NYU Works
NYU is a large institution with an operating budget of over $2 billion dollars. In this section, you can find out more about NYU’s finances and leadership.
We provide information about how NYU gets its money, how it spends it, how it borrows money and how NYU invests.
In addition, this section has information about the top officers of the university (and their salaries), the trustees and NYU’s bylaws.
On Campus
We explore some of the issues on NYU’s campus.
Besides the ongoing labor dispute, NYU
Exposed will examine many other issues of interest on campus.
NYU and the City
The tensions that exist between NYU and New York City are partially the result of NYU’s expansion into Greenwich Village.
This section explores those tensions by providing a short history of NYU’s growth and then focusing on two concrete examples: the demolition of the historic house in which Edgar Allan Poe wrote some of his best-known works to build a new law school building and the current attempt to build a 26-story dormitory.
